What You'll Do

You will be responsible for the support and delivery of Advanced Services Network Optimization or Security services to Cisco's Tier 1 Customers in the US Public Sector market (Mainly DoD).

You will perform and drive architectural, design and integration engineering for complex network infrastructure solutions. Advanced Service NCEs also assist customers with tool selection and strategic direction of tools and network management systems. You will identify and document network/security design and architecture best practices.

You will align and drive focused work with customer's business strategy and objectives. On a quarterly basis, NCEs are expected to present overall status of projects and delivery as part of the Quarterly Business Review. You will provide backup support on other Advanced Services accounts. Engineers will demonstrate and generate applicable technical, standard methodologies, and white papers.

In addition to your day-to-day customer activities, training and mentoring other NCEs will be required. NCEs lead the responsibility for driving regional Advanced Services projects and customer based project initiatives. You will actively lead complex network, security, and collaboration design, performance engineering or problem resolution projects. NCEs solve complex, multi-functional technical issues that cross boundaries over many disparate products technologies.

Who You Are

You will have a Route Switch and/or a Security background with the following skills:

Route/Switch:

  • 5-7 years relevant experience in core (route/switch) engineering
  • Typically requires BS, CS, University degree or equivalent plus 8+ years’ experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) ® or equivalent skills 
  • Ability to analyze networking services requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of designing complex security solutions
  • Expertise with Cisco software features and functionality
  • Experienced with implementing security solutions
  • Comprehensive understanding of all IP protocols
  • Ability to conduct training and one to one mentoring concerning security technology
  • Ability to multi-task, self-start, work in a fast-paced team environment and work independently
  • Exceptional professionalism, outstanding communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills are critical traits
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%
  • Maintain a Secret security clearance

Security:

  • 5-7 years relevant experience in core (security) engineering
  • Typically requires BS, CS, University degree or equivalent plus 8+ years’ experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Be experienced delivering Cisco standard methodologies in the customer's Contact Center environment
  • Have the skills required to design, build and deploy Cisco Security solutions, including ISE and Stealth Watch.
  • Be able to demonstrate their ability to lead or guide teams made up of Cisco, Customer and Partner members in the analysis and troubleshooting of complex security and network problems
  • Be capable to provide high level crisis management through anticipation of issues, problems or events and actively resolving them with the customer and partners
  • Have significant experience within an Architecture or Design role having end to end responsibility
  • Ability to multi-task, self-start, work in a fast-paced team environment and work independently
  • Exceptional professionalism, outstanding communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills are critical traits
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%
  • Maintain a Secret security clearance
