What You'll Do

Roles & responsibilities:

In this highly visible customer facing role as customer assurance Network Engineer, you will:

- Lead next generation R&S and Data Center for CAP (Customer Assurance Program) customers to provide End-to-End customer specific testing for stability, quality or customer satisfaction issues.

-Drive requirement discussion, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, execute and document results.

-Identify key issues, gaps and drive with engineering and delivery to resolve issues.

-Innovate to gain efficiency.

-Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.

-Collaborate with CAP manager, BU and other engineers and participate as member of engineering team to ensure successful project delivery. --- Engage with customers and other Cisco stakeholders on successful planning and execution of validation engagements.

Who You Are

You have deep technical expertise with Core routing, switching, Data Center and Cloud technologies along with Strong consulting skills, this position is the right fit for you to get your hands on architectural and customer business skills.

Minimum Qualifications

- Routing and Switching experience, R&S and/or DC CCIE preferred

- Strong knowledge of ACI, VXLAN, LISP, BGP, OSPF Routing, MPLS, LAN Switching, VPC, Data Center

 

Technologies

- NX-OS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR and IOS configuration and test

- Expertise in Cisco DC and Enterprise platforms (N2k-N9k, ASR1k-9k, ISR and Wireless Platforms. )

- Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)

- Architecture validation experience

- Knowledge of Industry Test Tools


Desired Skills

- Cloud/Virtualization experience

- Service provider and or Enterprise lab/production network experience

- experience Content Switching (OSI Layer 4-7 Switching, Load balancers) and DC firewall platforms is a plus

- Programming experience/familiarity is desirable

- Security and Firewall technologies

- Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex Network problems

- hands on experience with Ixia and/or Spirent tools is desirable

You are required to have a great interpersonal communication skills, be able to articulate complex concepts in easy-to-understand language and lead/ a member of a team of engineers through challenging and complex projects. Typically requires BS plus 2 + yrs related experience, or a MS with 1-2 years of related experience.


Who You'll Work With

Cisco Advanced Lab Operations (CALO) enables technical support and testing in labs across the globe. This lab is used to by customer support engineers to test, recreate and debug network issues for Cisco's customers.

The Team

* Active power management for networked devices. * Server and network virtualization with image and configuration sharing scaled for hundreds of engineers local and worldwide. * Automation and management of lab infrastructure devices. * Sharing of equipment through a fully meshed lab infrastructure * Proactive network automation, collection of inventory data and device health information, and fault detection.* Sharing of equipment through a fully meshed lab infrastructure

What You'll Do

* Use the case-tracking tool to track case work flow ensuring service level agreements are met * Train lab workers about lab processes and policies, use of lab tools for inventory and case management, and establishing IOS layer 2 and 3 with the lab infrastructure. * Identify and assign lab tasks to the lab workers to perform * Subject matter expert and escalation to assist the lab workers in complex recreates

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

* Must have strong negotiating and technical skills to influence Engineers by advising them on equipment substitutions and/or alternative solutions with equipment available. * Effective written and oral communication * Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work with difficult people. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established service level agreements. * Experience reading network topology and determining device connectivity. * Experience performing basic router and switching configuration tasks and connectivity troubleshooting with the following Cisco devices including routers, switches, firewalls.  

Desired Skills

* Experience with Cisco IOS, NX-OS and IOS-XE required * Experience coding with Python * CCNP R&S and Cisco networking work experience * Experience working in a lab environment * Experience working with remote end users * Experience with using a networking test tool such as IXIA or Spirent
