What You'll Do:

As a participant in the Veteran Talent Incubation Program (VTIP), you will be given the opportunity to receive industry training, study for and complete your CCNA certification, gain access to hands-on training, and be mentored by some of the industry's brightest minds who will help challenge and develop your skills.

At the end of the incubation period, you will be assessed for the opportunity for full-time employment as a Customer Support Engineer (CSE) or Network Consulting Engineer (NCE). Based on the business need, your skill set, and preference, you will take one of the following routes:

  • Network Consulting Engineer - Develop complex designs, implement Cisco leading edge technologies worldwide and provide optimization services to the largest networks and customers in the world
  • Customer Support Engineer - Be a strategic partner to our customers, saving their business from the impact of network incidents, solving and preventing the recurrence of technical issues

Who You Are:

Our minimum requirements for this role:

  • Military personnel that will be released from their active duty commitment prior to July 29th, 2018 from Camp Lejeune, Ft. Bragg, New River, or a Veteran located in the Raleigh, NC area.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to fix technical problems
  • Ability to multi-task, self-start, work in a fast-paced team environment and work independently
  • Passionate about networking, information technology or computer science
  • Resilience and ability to resolve complex technical problems, multitask, and be dedicated to customer success
  • Innate crisis management skills and ability to handle critical customer issues/problems
  • Experience interacting with customer or in a client facing role
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of networking technologies
  • Communications or Technical Background
  • Completion of college-level IT/networking courses/additional technical certs/Network Training

Additional Location(s) or Information:

This position is available to military personnel that will have completed their active duty commitment and are able to start full-time employment by July 30, 2018

  • The incubation period of this program, January-July, 2018 will be remote/self-study. If a full-time offer is awarded, the role could be based in Raleigh, NC, Columbia, MD, Herndon, VA or Richardson, TX or potentially other Cisco locations.
